1. Who we are

Jeagers Tech Repair repairs phones, laptops, consoles and other devices from a home-based workshop in Hanger Lane, London W5, and by post. We’re responsible for the personal data described here.

2. What we collect

• Identity and contact: your name, email address, phone number and, for collection or return, an address.
• Device: make, model, serial numbers, a description of the fault and the repair we carry out. If we need your passcode to test a device, we use it only for testing before and after the repair and don’t keep it.
• Repair progress: the status and messages we record so you can follow your repair on the tracker.
• Technical data: basic information such as browser type, which the website’s host receives when you visit.

3. How we use it

• To quote for and carry out your repair, and to contact you about it. This is needed for our contract with you.
• To let you follow your repair. The tracker asks for your reference and the last four digits of your phone number, and shows only your device, the price, the status and our messages.
• To keep records for warranty, accounts and the law.
• To run and protect the website, for example to stop spam.

We don’t sell your data, and we only send marketing if you’ve asked for it.

4. Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business: our website host and database provider (which store the details you send us), the email or messaging service that alerts us to new requests, and Royal Mail if we post your device back. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.

5. How long we keep it

We keep repair records for as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and legal reasons, and then delete or anonymise them.

6. Security

We protect your data with access controls and encrypted connections. Repair records are stored in a database that is only reachable from our own server, not directly from the public internet.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details below. If you’re unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

This website uses only the storage it needs to work. We don’t use advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we’ll ask you first.
